How we started…

I started this business for my family.

My father was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in 2024, and doctors gave him a year at most. As his condition worsened, our family—my mother and I—felt completely helpless. My mom rarely smiled anymore, and I hated watching the people I loved fall apart. I felt powerless.

But I couldn’t stand the sadness. So, I gathered whatever energy and hope I had left and decided to make a difference. I knew I couldn’t cure my father, but maybe I could bring some light back into our home. I wanted to help my mother smile again, to help her find a little peace and joy during one of the hardest times of her life.

I started making candles, not because I had any special reason or experience, but because I knew my mother loved them. I was just an engineering student, so it was a challenge for me—but one I was determined to take on. I made her peony-scented candles first, her favorite fragrance, followed by apple cinnamon, which reminded me of Christmas.

It is 2025, and now he is gone. But at least my mother is smiling again. She has more energy, more hope. I can’t change our situation, but I can bring back moments of warmth, light, and joy to help us through it. That’s why I named my business “mother & i.” These candles are a symbol of that hope, of the love that binds us, and of the simple things that can make even the toughest days feel a little brighter.

I hope these candles bring you the same peace of mind they brought my family.
